There are not many perks to getting older when it comes to running. However, you do gain quite a bit of experience from making a ton of mistakes. I started running way back in the year 2000 and, in the time since, I’ve learned a ton!
I’m excited to be passing on some of that knowledge (with none of the agony of the mistakes!) at Nellie’s place today! As you may know, this Brooklyn Active Mama has recently begun her love affair with running and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve loved Nellie from the day I started reading BAM, and I’ve had the absolute pleasure of hanging with her twice this past year.
I get giddy when people I know and love take up running, and it’s been no different with Nellie. She just recently completed her first 10 miler (woot woot!) for her half-marathon training! But,Β more important then the mileage, is what she has discovered about herself though running. I love it when that happens.
So, before this turns into a blog post of it’s own, please join me at Brooklyn Active Mama for my top 5 things all new runners should know!
Heading over right now!! π
I love talking to new runners! Their enthusiasm and excitement is wonderful!
I know!! The best part is that they’re just starting and have so much ahead of them. It’s pretty cool to watch them develop and start loving it.
Already visited!
Went there first. Loved it!
No chafing! Chafing is bad!
Heading over now!

LOVED your write up! (I’m coming back over here to comment for some reason.. i dunno, we’ll blame it on the concussion π ) The part “You Are What You Think” is so true for everything in life, especially running.
Haha! You can use that excuse for A LOT of things!! Thanks Charlotte and you’re absolutely right about that!
Great tips Allie! I loved all of your points!
