I’m a double mother runner and I run like a mother and basically do everything else that way too…because I have no choice. However, Heather at Michigan Runner Girl who works with a couple ladies you may know from Runner’s World – Dimity McDowell and Sarah Bowen Shea, have a choice when they feature running moms on their site Another Mother Runner, and today is my feature day!

Just a couple of books these two amazing women wrote: Run Like A Mother and Train Like A Mother!
You bet I do.
So follow this mother at Another Mother Runner today and get answers to your most burning questions about me like do I prefer a 5K or 10K? What thoughts (if any) go thorough my head while running? And, what was my lowest running moment?

All bundled up and ready to run with mom. Circa 2009. Miles is on the left in case you’re wondering.
Do you read Runner’s World? Do you know of this site or these amazing running, writing moms? What magazines do you read? “Real” magazines or the digital version?
So excited for your feature! Congrats! Heading over to check it out now!!
Thanks Nicole! I’m sure they would love to feature YOU as well.
Cannot wait to go check it out! My answer, in case you were wondering, is that my lowest running moment was when I had to run. That was traumatizing! ;)-Ashley
Baaahahahahaha!!!! Of course it was. You rock.
Yay Allie! Congrats to you!! I don’t subscribe to Runner’s World but I do read many of their online articles. And I will be reading this one!
Thanks Michelle!!
I keep meaning to start running again. I think high school traumatized me! Congrats on the feature!
I hated running in high school too! If anyone told me then what I would be doing now I would never have believed it! You should give it another try…it could surprise you!
Loved your post over there – you really are an inspiration!!! Congrats on your super big day with your feature!!!
Thank you so much Kim!! I appreciate it.
That’s so awesome for you! I will head right over and read it. I do read Runners World. I also subscribe to Oxygen Magazine as well.
Very cool! Thanks Kris.
Headed right over! YAY for being featured!! I have totally been to that site before. I am very curious about all of the answers to your open ended questions 🙂
That’s awesome! Thank you so much Nellie!
Headed over! I do get some “real” magazines in the mail. Us Weekly. (Shhh…on that one) and I really want Popular Photography and Yankee Magazine to be renewed but I’ve been too cheap to do that..yet.
OMG I was getting US Weekly by mistake (long story) and it was awful. I totally got sucked into reading it so I started immediately recycling it as soon as it came in the mail! Ha ha ha
I need to go over and check you out! Congrats on being featured! I know little about preparing for a marathon or just running in general. Hubby is actually the track star. He has coached it before too. That’s actually one way he would love to help youth sometime again in the future. Can’t wait to read how you responded to those questions!
Track coach for a husband? How cool is that!? Thank you!!
As I’ve said so many times before, I’m no runner. But, in the spirit of trying to get fit and live healthier, I’ve been doing 30-Day Fitness Challenges. This month I’m working on planks and squats. And I think next month I might try doing a little running.
PS – The twins look SO cute ready for their run with mom!
Love planks and squats! Can’t wait to hear about your running experience. Happy SITS Day…again:-)
This is so cool and I LOVE that photo of you running the half-marathon!! Such a great photo!
Thanks Britt! I was smiling so bog because I was at the finish line and I knew I had accomplished my goal for the half. It was pure joy and I’m so glad a photographer captured it.
Woop Woop! Mama Allie in the house! About to check out your awesome post. Way to go!
I am the world’s oldest reader of Glamour magazine, which I’ve been getting since college. I get Entertainment Weekly too. I don’t like reading magazines online, but I will definitely read your feature!
You are too much Glamour girl! I’m with you on the online magazines – they’re very hard to read, or maybe I’m just old! Thanks Dana.
Heading over Allie! How fun!
Woohooo big congrats, Allie! 🙂 On my way to check it out.
Thanks so much!!
You are such a goddess! Headed over now!
It takes one to know one! Thanks Ilene!
Loved your feature!! Made me feel special that I could say I know you. 🙂
Awwww – thanks so much Laura! I feel special to know YOU!
Congratulations! I do not read Runners World. Okay, I read it sometimes when I can get a freebie. I had no idea that they worked for Runner’s world. I do know the blog though.
Congrats again!
Gotta love those freebies!! Thanks Carla.
Congrats! I like to call myself a “wannabe runner” – I just posted last night about how I’ve only been able to find “the zone” once, but it was enough to keep me getting out there a few times a week to try to get it back!
If you’re out there putting one foot in front of the other in a “quicker then walking” fashion, you’re a runner! If you keep getting out there, you’ll find yourself in the zone more often. Good luck!! Thank you for stopping by.
Wow, that’s so awesome!!
Thank you 🙂 I love how direct and to the point your comment is!
