I remember when the boys were babies, I used to stare at them in utter disbelief that there wereΒ two! Somedays I still cannot believe I have twins. I also remember thinking how it would ever be possible for these tiny little babies to talk? Just thinking that someday I would be able to have a conversation with them, blew me away! What would they say?

Miles and Vaughn will be six on Monday, April 13. How the hell that happened I haven’t a clue. What I do know is they never.stop.talking and I (mostly) love it. They are both so curious, funny and leave me shaking my head – either because they have memorized a scene from a movie that they both act out, or because they are mimicking me when they sayΒ “Seriously?” Β with just the right amount of sarcasm. It’s hard living withΒ twoΒ little versions of yourself.

Here’s some other hilarious things they have said over the years:

Miles: Mom, if you were a robot I would take your batteries out.

Clever, very clever, and I actually wish you could do this. I need a recharge!

I think this is Miles…not sure.

This is definitely Miles and I have always loved this shot!

Miles: When I’m a magician I’m going to turn Vaughn into a turkey and then I’m going to eat him.

I love that he’s so sure he’s going to be a magician. There’s no “if” in that sentence, and the rest is just disturbing.

Vaughn:Β (talking to me)Β If you got hit by lightening, I could do whatever I wanted.

Oh that is so sweet.

Miles: Why is there fur on my legs?

Me: It’s not fur, it’s hair and everyone has it.

Miles: That’s gross.

Agreed! You’re lucky you’re a boy and don’t have to shave and wax it off kid!

Aunt Carla: I had to have a knee replacement because I have old bones!

Miles: Do your bones have beards on them?

HA!!! This lead my aunt to declare him “exceptionally smart.” He’s just an exceptional smart ass.

Let it all out Vaughn.

This was taken at the personal training studio I used to own. I took them there a lot to get it all out!

Me: Vaughn, do you know how many miles I’m running today? 20!

Vaughn: Why not 100?

Clearly he should be my coach. Sorry CRS but the kid has a vision.

Miles: (upon finding Johnny Elf aka Elf on a Shelf in his room)

Vaughn!!!!! Johnny Elf is in here! If I knowed he was going to fly up there, I wouldn’t have taken my eyes off that spot all night!

Christmas morning 2013?

Christmas morning 2012? At least I know who is who because of the chairs!

And these are only the quotes I have written down! I also have countless videos of them “unboxing” their Skylander toys and doing all kinds of singing and dancing routines.

These two have made my life what it is and not a day goes by that I’m not thankful for having TWO, talkative, active, adventurous little men in my life. Happy Birthday boys – I hope you never lose your enthusiasm…and I’ll be here to record it all.
