I’m feeling pretty full these days. Not from food, in fact I can’t eat enough, but from training, cooking, family, friends andΒ snow. So much snow.

I didn’t say the fullness was all good, it’s just full.

Maybe I’m feeling hopeFUL because I’m going to see the sun and feel it’s warmth when I get the hell out of dodge on Wednesday and book it to Vegas forΒ my BIL’s 40th birthday. We celebrate big in this family and I love it. Fill me up! (that one is for the bartender…)

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 16, 2015

RUNNING: I ran outside twiceΒ last week. That filled me with so much happiness, I cannot even tell you. I ran 40 miles on a treadmill the week before thatΒ and, even though my tears instantly froze on my face and I couldn’t feel my toes for about 7 minutes, it was 100,000 times better then being on the treadmill. Maybe 200,000 times.

I also had an amazing indoor track workout. I’m so thankful I have one to get 6 x 800s done in 3:10 flat.

Speed work!

Speed work!

I made it outside for my long run of 16 miles on Saturday. It was a balmy 20 degrees. I almost broke out the shorts. I ran the first 8 miles with two friends before picking up the pace for the second 8. That way, I was able to run negative splits with an overall pace of 8:00 min miles. My legs were definitely tired but I felt strong and ready to go again on Sunday!

Total miles:Β 44 (with 22 outside!)

CYCLING: Due to being buried under snow, I hadn’t taught my spin class since January 16th! I was finally able to get back in the saddle (totally did that on purpose!) and had a great class. I did one other tough bike workout on Friday, just for good measure. If I’m barely able to runΒ outside, I don’t even want to think about how long it will be until I canΒ rideΒ outside! #DreamOn

Total cycling miles: 44 (interesting that this matches my running mileage!)

Most mornings, this is what I wake-up to. I guess it's better then snow...

SWIMMING: I was only able to get one pool workout in this week. Guess why? SNOW! The swim I was able to do was fantastic and after runningΒ 6 miles outside. The pool never felt so warm!

Total yards: 2400

Here’s what my week looks like in Training Peaks, the software I use with CRS:

FUEL: Mini eggs and anything with salt since, after my track workout I noticed this on my neck:

Salt neck!

Salt neck!

I’m hoping that salted caramel counts. I’m sure it does.

I’ve also still been cooking away with my Blue Apron meals. Culinary marvelsΒ I have never before attempted includeΒ poaching chicken, mincing, chopping and roasting vegetables I’ve never heard of or cannot pronounce. I even made orange beefΒ lo mien like I worked at a Chinese restaurant. Unfortunately my house also smelled like oneΒ for 3 days after. It was totally worth it. #FillingMeUp

THINGS I LOVE: Technology! So I’ve been doing two hour training sessions, four days a week and my playlists are getting beyond old and boring.Β When I have a particularly lengthy program design from my coach, I keep my phone poised between my bike handle bars so I can see what my next mission is. During one such sweat fest,Β this happened:

Thank you Flo Rida for getting down for real!

THINGS I DON’T LOVE AS MUCH:Β Ok, I know this is super obvious but I cannot take much more of this snow. The weathermen cannot even predict it anymore. Saturday night we had dinner plans to celebrate my other BIL’s birthday. Three to six inches was predicted (which is laughable at this point) and it started snowing around 2:30pm. A Β lot. First the sitter cancelled, my dad and stepmom came to the rescue with the kids, we got to the highway and turned around because the roads were so bad. And I have an SUV with 4-wheel drive. Night ruined, once again, because of this weather. And it was still snowing the next morning for a total of about eight more inches. We’re getting buried alive over here!

The playscape is barely visible!

This is my front yard. I'm not even joking.

The back deck. We shoveled all the snow off of it on Sunday. It was a real hoot.

Somehow we're all still smiling.

There’s yet more snow predicted for Wednesday when we’re supposed to fly out to Las Vegas via Philly.Β The only question is how many xanax is it going to take to get me on the plane? #filledwithprescriptionmeds

Just looking at this makes me want to puke from fear.

TV: Did someone say Oscar? I’m sure someone did but I would have to be awake to hear it. I did see Patricia Arquette’s acceptance speech.Β Loved it. Fell asleep.

MUSIC: Missy Elliott. Ever since her performance during the Super Bowl I have been all over her music. This classic came on the radio one day and I took a pic of it so I wouldn’t forget to download it. Fill me up with your badass self Missy!

RANDOM QUOTE OF THE WEEK:Β “Tact is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.” –Β Winston ChurchillΒ

How was your week?

What is filling you up these days?

How’s the weather where you are and, if you can see the sun, can I visit you?
